Water Heater Repairs

Water Heater Repair

A broken water heater means inconvenience. If you suddenly lose hot water, you obviously know your water heater is broken, but there are other signs of problems you should be watching for that if caught in time, can prevent costly repairs of the water heater itself and possible damage from flooding.

Signs your water heater may need repair:

  • Lack or loss of hot water.
  • Popping, crackling or other unusual noises may signal electrical problems.
  • Smell of gas. This is dangerous so call your gas company immediately.
  • Unusual moisture or condensation.
  • Any sign of water leakage or damage.
  • Rusted or loose bolts or screws.
  • Soft or spongy floors.
  • Wall deterioration, mildew or mold.

We service all major water heater brands including:

  • Bradford White
  • Rheem
  • Stater
  • A.O. Smith
  • Rinnai
  • Bosch
  • GE
  • Whirlpool
  • Richmond

Our certified plumbers are available 24 hours, 6 days a week, to inspect and repair any water heater problems. We are in Provo, Salt Lake City, Lehi, Heber, Park City and surrounding areas.

Ways to prevent water heater repairs:

  • Install a drip pan. A drip pan costs only about $10 and sits under the water heater to collect dripping water and drain it outside the home or into a suitable drain. Call our experienced plumber to install a pan under your water heater if you don’t already have one. The ideal time to install a pan is when the water heater is being replaced.
  • Flush your tank. Our qualified plumbers will do this for you, or you can do it yourself by hooking up a hose to drain the tank to a suitable drain. This should be done twice a year.
  • Check valves. Make sure the shut-off and drain valves are working properly. Also, make sure your home’s main water shut-off valve is working, in case you have an emergency and need to turn off all water to the house. This should be done quarterly.
  • Check for leaks. Monthly, check if your water heater is leaking. Look for spraying, water droplets, or mist outside the tank. Also, look for corrosion and lime buildup on the pipes.
